my mom has a hernia.. i felt it and almost barfed.. shes had it for years..
thats right…. actually the hernia is just the abdominal content comming out of weak abdominal wall. if the blood supply in the hernial sac is lost due to obstruction it is called strangulation… this condition requires immidiate medical attention
Sure thing doc. The best advice I can give is to not delay treatment. My hernia though apparent, was painless. If you put treatment off until you find it convenient, you risk the hernia becoming incarcerated, which would be real trouble.
in fact newer operations are least invasive and one recovers really soon…. gone are the days when the anesthesia and pain meds were not used…. surguries for hernia, today are really safe…. and for that matter painless
even non-lap repairs are quite safe these days…. i am a doctor from India and have seen many of such surgury…. in fact in our rural set up, due to lack of good equipments we have to rely on non-lap operations….
@blenderfroggy its nice what you r doing to help ppl in there recovery
congrates for getting into internal medicine… its quite an accurate animation… specially if one is a student its really helpful
morphinemethadone is right…. its not common at all
its just a complication
actually there are 2 nerves in the inguinal canal which may get damaged… but with gr8er advances in surgury and with more presise surguries these complications are rare…. but complications are still told to the patient due to legal reasons…
no i saw three hernia repair surgeries yesterday they were very careful they dont go into the spermatic cord which has the nerves etc
to m88hoop : It depends on many things .. the type of the hernia … the doctor … and if the hernia is complicated or not … but often the hernia operation goes smooth without complication .. dont worry
gauravkittz: is that common for them to cut nerves during the operation? obviously they don’t mean to but, does it happen often?
yup. I had surgery 2 months ago, and it left a nice long mark on me.
hernia itself does not produce any problem… during the operation though, due to complications like cutting of nerves… there may be problem with erection
to quetza21: lol yea i have one right now im just worried i guess… thanks for ur response lol
not really, unless you freak her out haha. they do suck though, i had one for 3 years and it took like 3 months to recover. nice scar though
probably for PAIN.
could a hernia effect sex? or erections?
i had an inguinal hernia for 2 years, i had surgery 2 weeks ago and i am healing now,
i’m getting into internal medicine soon so this is interesting…. i don’t know if this animation is accurate, but i like it.
years back i had the idea to use animation to do this, and here it is…. well at least i don’t have to do the work. or get the credit.
.
nice video
This 3D medical animation is superb. I think it is so interesting to be able to see.
Any questions about recovery from non-laproscopic repair, feel free to ask me. I had the procedure done.
I think one of my teachers had one of these
same here
I love these animations. It futher spurs my curiousity in the medical field
NICE!!! – now if someone needs an emergency operation because of a inguinal hernia…I wont be clueless and just stand there
i love this channel just everything you show here rocks!
